Bass, Berry & Sims welcomes 2 new attorneys

Parmar

Bass, Berry & Sims PLC has hired two attorneys for its Nashville office.

Janice Parmar (associate) advises emerging and public companies on a variety of corporate and securities law matters, including venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, SEC reporting and compliance, corporate governance and corporate formation.

Previously, she practiced in the Palo Alto, California, office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C. and with Dewey & LeBeouf LLP in New York. Parmar is a graduate of the New York University School of Law and Indiana University.

Veirs

Kimberly S. Veirs (attorney) advises clients in all facets of employment law including wage and hour; discipline and discharge; discrimination claims and a variety of employment law issues, involving the FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA and other state and federal employment law statutes.

Previously, she practiced with a Pennsylvania-based employment boutique law firm. Veirs earned her law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Tennessee.

Otero joins Pinnacle as financial advisor

Otero

Manny Otero has joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as a senior vice president and financial advisor for the firm’s small business advisory group. He is based at Pinnacle’s Cool Springs – Mallory Lane office.

Otero brings 14 years of financial services experience, most recently serving as a personal banker at SunTrust Bank in Brentwood. Previous roles were with First State Bank and Access National Mortgage, where he was a mortgage banker, Fifth Third Bank, where he was an officer manager, and Bank of America, where he was a senior personal banker.

Doyle

He earned a degree in business administration from Pittsburg State University with a concentration in business finance.

Also, Brandon Doyle has joined Pinnacle as the office leader for its South Lowry Street office.

Doyle has 10 years of financial services experience and was most recently a branch manager for SunTrust Bank’s Smyrna location.

Doyle is a graduate of the University of Tennessee.

DWP Live hires director of marketing/creative

Brand

JuLee Brand has joined event and video production company, DWP Live, as director of marketing/creative, leading its new internal marketing department, which will work to grow the brand’s visibility internationally.

Brand is responsible for creating and executing all marketing and public relations aspects of DWP Live’s business, including print and social media campaigns. She also designs marketing materials and produces promotional videos.

Brand comes to DWP Live from Hachette Book Group, where she worked as one of the publisher’s art directors for the last four years. At HBG, Brand designed book jackets and directed photo shoots for the company’s FaithWords, Center Street and Jericho imprints.

Brand previously worked as the creative director at High Five Entertainment, creating and animating graphics as well as designing all marketing and identity pieces for the television production company. She also taught graphic design classes at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film and the Art Institute of Tennessee as an adjunct and part-time professor, respectively.

She earned a degree from Belmont University and received a master’s degree in media design from Full Sail University. She is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.

MP&F welcomes two new staff associates

Costa

MP&F Public Relations has hired Reagan Costa and Sarah Hunt-Blackwell as the firm’s newest staff associates.

Costa, a Chattanooga native, graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in public relations and a minor in business administration.

Hunt-Blackwell

Previously, Costa spent a year interning in the digital marketing department at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.

Hunt-Blackwell, a native of Madison, Alabama, graduated from Vanderbilt University in May with a degree in communication studies and minor in corporate strategy. She interned with MP&F in fall 2015, serving clients such as Kirkland’s Home Store, Cantina Laredo and the Renaissance Hotel.

Crosslin & Associates expands team with 5 hires

Crosslin & Associates has expanded its entrepreneurial business, audit and tax teams.

Teresa Coburn, CPA, has joined as entrepreneurial business services manager. She previously worked as controller with Security Seed & Chemical in Clarksville and as an accountant with Louisville Bedding Company and Louis T. Roth & Co., in Louisville, Ky. She holds a degree from the University of Kentucky.

Leisa Loftis, CPA, has been hired as an audit supervisor. She most recently worked as a manager and an outsourced controller in the public accounting industry, as well as an adjunct accounting professor, at Tennessee Technological University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Tennessee Tech.

Also joining the audit department are Josh Chaffin and Konnor Amis as audit team members.

Chaffin recently held an internship at T.E. Lott & Co and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Alabama.

Amis previously worked as a teller at NobleBank & Trust in Anniston, Alabama. He earned a degree in accounting from Jacksonville State University and his master of accountancy degree from the University of Alabama.

Kellie Tucker joins the tax department as an administrative assistant. She most recently worked as the business travel sales manager for the Hilton Nashville Downtown. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech.
