Levy leaves Belmont to launch consulting firm

Claudia Levy, the former Belmont University College of Law director of career services, has launched Levy Legal Consulting, LLC, where she will provide strategic counsel to lawyers and law firms in the areas of attorney recruitment, business development, career counseling and more.

Levy started her career with Wilkes & McHugh, P.A., litigating medical malpractice cases. She then directed client relations for Counsel on Call in Nashville, where she matched highly specialized attorneys with companies seeking the right legal expertise.

For more than three years, she directed the career services department at Belmont University College of Law, where she was named Most Outstanding Administrator in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Four DSi employees receive promotions

Nashville-based eDiscovery company DSi today announced four promotions as part of the company’s continued growth.

They are:

Dustin Halstead from business application developer to product implementation and software support engineer

Blake Stadler from accounts receivable specialist to business development administrator

Tonya Mullins from business development coordinator to business development engineer

Mallory Durham from receptionist to accounts receivable analyst

Prior to joining DSi, Halstead worked at Clarksville Gas & Water as a project manager and systems analyst.

Stadler joined DSi in July 2013 in the accounting department, having formerly served as the director of catering sales and marketing at Newk’s Eatery.

Since joining DSi in March 2009, Mullins has been promoted five times.

Her job responsibilities have included handling proposals, giving product demonstrations, training the client services team and more.

Hawkins

Durham graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in May 2014 with a degree in public relations. She joined the DSi team in July 2014.

Blue Chair Bay Rum Expands Nashville team

Blue Chair Bay Rum, the rum brand created and owned wholly by singer-songwriter Kenny Chesney, has hired Justin Hawkins as director of marketing, Aletha Karls as accounting controller and Alma Rittenberry as executive assistant.

Hawkins joins the team as director of marketing for Fishbowl Spirits, LLC, parent company of Blue Chair Bay Rum. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management and previously was with Asurion. Prior to Asurion, Hawkins spent four years as a global brand manager at Mattel Toys.

Communities In Schools hires program manager

Ingwersen

Lauren Ingwersen has been hired as the statewide program manager for Communities In Schools of Tennessee, the local affiliate of the nation’s largest nonprofit dropout-prevention network.

Most recently, she was an academic counselor at McGavock High School, where she was named MNPS 2013 Academy Counselor of the Year.

Ingwersen’s duties will include representing Communities In Schools of Tennessee at events, developing relationships with school district personnel and overseeing school line teams and data.

DVL PR & Advertising announces new hires

Fleming

DVL Public Relations & Advertising has added Scott Fleming as web developer and Hannah Griffith as assistant media buyer.

Griffith

Fleming comes to DVL with more than 10 years of programming and application design experience. At DVL, he joins the interactive team to provide web based support and custom solutions for an array of clients on an individualized basis.

Griffith is responsible for managing broadcast traffic, assisting in the planning and buying of media, and ensuring proper execution of media operations. She will work with clients in the nonprofit, financial services, food and beverage, education and real estate industries.

splitsecnd expands team in Nashville

splitsecnd, developer of the nation’s first crash detection device that plugs into any car, has announced the addition of two at its Nashville headquarters: Sarah Voter, as director of operations, and Srivatsan (Sri) Pallavaram, as head of business development.

Voter

Voter brings more than 15 years of customer relations, business operations and development experience to splitsecnd. As director of operations, Voter is responsible for ensuring premium service and functionality to end users of the product. Prior to joining splitsecnd, she helped lead Sweet CeCe’s LLC expansive growth as regional director of operations and franchise relations.

Pallavaram

Pallavaram joins splitsecnd as head of business development. Pallavaram is responsible for furthering business development and driving continued sales of the product. He has a long history working with transformative, life-saving technologies as a senior scientist at Vanderbilt University, where he has primarily focused on computer-assisted deep brain stimulation used to treat Parkinson’s patients. Pallavaram earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt and a master’s in electrical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Sugar Hill Records adds Moyer to staff

Moyer

Ashley Moyer has joined Sugar Hill as manager of artist & media relations.

Moyer joins Welk Music Group from Lotos Nile, where she was the public relations manager.

She began her professional career in Nashville as an intern at Sony ATV Music Publishing and earned a degree in Recording Industry with a minor in public relations from MTSU.
