1. Felker to chair Metro Board of Health -

Samuel L. Felker of Baker Donelson has been elected chair of the Metropolitan Board of Health.

A shareholder in the firm’s Nashville office, Felker is a member of Baker Donelson’s Product Liability and Mass Tort Group and a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. He has served in leadership positions in the Nashville and American Bar Associations, and he is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel.

2. Pinnacle Airlines is leaving Memphis for Minnesota -

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Pinnacle Airlines plans to move its headquarters and a few hundred jobs to Minneapolis from Memphis, Tenn.

Pinnacle has been reorganizing under bankruptcy protection since last year. When it emerges, it will become part of Delta Air Lines Inc. Pinnacle plans to move into space that Delta has rented but isn't using at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. It said it expects to make the move by May.

3. Free Enterprise Award presented to Baker -

J.B. Baker, chairman of the board for Volunteer Express Inc. and owner of Sprint Logistics, LLC and Baker South real estate development, has been awarded the Jennings A. Jones Champion of Free Enterprise Award by Middle Tennessee State University.

4. DVL partner named 2012 silver medalist -

Nelson Eddy, partner and creative director at DVL Public Relations & Advertising, has been named Silver Medalist for 2012 by the Nashville chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

5. Pinnacle Airlines files for bankruptcy protection -

MEMPHIS (AP) — Pinnacle Airlines says it's filed for bankruptcy protection in order to deal with its mounting debt and costs.

The Memphis, Tenn.-based airline operates regional flights as Delta Connection, United Express and US Airways Express. It says its current business model isn't sustainable.

6. UPS, FedEx holiday package volume up from 2010 -

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Tiera Washington's workload doubled during the holiday rush at UPS' largest air hub, where seemingly endless streams of packages are sorted and shipped as the peak season puts the package delivery company to the test.

7. Pinnacle begins moving into new Memphis offices -

MEMPHIS (AP) — Pinnacle Airlines Corp. this week begins moving into its new headquarters in downtown Memphis.
