OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Austin Martin is best known as Vanderbilt's .400 hitter. He's starting to get a reputation for his power.

Martin homered on Reid Detmers' first pitch of the game and he went deep again in the seventh to break a tie in the Commodores' 3-1 victory over Louisville on Sunday in the College World Series.

15. Church buys 50,000-square-foot building in MetroCenter -

The Belonging Co. Church has purchased a 50,000-square-foot property at 201 Great Circle Road in MetroCenter from commercial real estate firm Southeast Venture, which developed the property.

Previously meeting at Rocketown, The Belonging Co. Church was founded in 2013 by co-pastors Henry and Alex Seeley, who moved to Nashville from Australia in 2012.

Fully autonomous vehicles are coming to Tennessee’s roads, bringing many more changes than the absence of a steering wheel. Just as America’s interstate highways changed the way we lived, worked, traveled and made decisions in the 1950s and 60s, the age of self-driving cars should deliver significant societal benefits, including reduced accidents, injuries and fatalities, as well as improved traffic management since cars and trucks will be connected, both to each other and traffic signals.

Jones’ plan is to use all three freshman backs – Ty Chandler, Tim Jordan and Trey Coleman – in some sort of rotation behind junior John Kelly. Centerstone, a national behavioral health care provider, has named retired United States Air Force Col. Thomas W. Mahler Jr. chair of its board of directors for Centerstone Military Services.

Mahler has served as a board member since 2003. In 2014, he was selected to become the chair of the Centerstone Research Institute board and served in that role until 2016. In addition to chairing the Centerstone Military Services board, he also serves on the Centerstone Foundation board.

36. Mayor names Cole Metro’s first chief resilience officer -

Nashville Mayor Megan Barry has appointed Erik Cole as chief resilience officer in the new Office of Resilience.

The new position and office were created to lead citywide efforts to help Nashville prepare for, withstand and bounce back from catastrophic events including floods, tornadoes and fires and slow-moving disasters like unemployment, affordable housing and poverty and inequality.
