Dr. Barry Rouse has received the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Lifetime Excellence in Research Award.

He is an immunologist in the Department of Biomedical and Diagnostic Services at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

4. Martin names Theriot to UT vice provost post -

The University of Tennessee has announced that Matthew Theriot is the new vice provost for faculty affairs.

He will begin August 1 and also will continue as associate provost for teaching and learning innovation.

5. Burchett’s mother, father helped shape his career -

Homegrown Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett espouses the values of many East Tennessee residents: strong family connections, honoring military service and remembering where he comes from.

6. Snowden is new CMO of TeamHealth -

Miles S. Snowden, M.D., MPH, has been named chief medical officer for Knoxville-based TeamHealth Holdings, Inc.

Snowden replaces Gar LaSalle, M.D., who retired earlier in 2014, according to the PRnewswire.
