KAMA 2021 Legacy Gala: Starry Night. The Knoxville Academy of Medicine Alliance will hold a formal event that will feature hors d’oeuvres, beef or vegetarian dinner and cash bar. A silent auction will be held, as well as a “Raise the Paddle” for the New Hopewell Elementary School playground. The “Dogwood Strings Trio” will be playing a variety of styles of music. This will be KAMA’s only in-person fundraiser this year. KAMA has had a presence in the Knoxville community since 1928, supporting physicians and health care initiatives in our community. Proceeds from KAMA fundraising efforts are awarded each spring through the KAMA Philanthropic Fund in the form of medical and nursing scholarships, grants to local heath nonprofits, and support for local KAMA sponsored programs. Legacy Luncheon for the Parks

The 2021 Legacy Parks Foundation luncheon will feature guest speakers Justin Skeesuck and Patrick Gray, who will share their story of friendship, hope, faith and community discovered on their trek in Spain on the Camino de Santiago trail – 500 miles, two best friends and one wheelchair. Luncheon guests will hear firsthand stories from their bestselling book and award-winning documentary “I’ll Push You.” 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The University of Tennessee Research Park at Cherokee Farm, 2641 Osprey Vista Way, Knoxville. Movies at the Midway

The city of Knoxville and the Knox County Public Library and partner Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union have announced another season of outdoor movies at Chilhowee Park. Free and open to the public. The library and the city will announce the final line up on Sept. 17. Drive-In at the Midway will be presented on four Friday nights. Information
