Print | Front Page | Email this story

NASHVILLE (AP) — Memory foam maker Sinomax is building a new $28 million plant in southeastern Nashville, creating 350 new jobs.

Republican Gov. Bill Haslam said Tuesday that the investment involves the largest jobs commitment by a Chinese-owned company in Tennessee history.

Sinomax has designed and produced memory foam mattresses, toppers and pillows for more than 15 years. Products are sold under a variety of national private label brand names.

The company is renovating a former Whirlpool facility near La Vergne to create a new 505,000-square-foot facility. The plant is scheduled to begin operations in June.
