TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — The Taiwanese company that manufactures smartphones for Apple Inc. and other global brands announced plans Monday to produce electric cars for auto brands under a similar contract model.

2. Energy Dept revives vehicle loan program after criticism -

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Energy is reviving a vehicle loan program it pledged to retool after criticism it funded flops and wasted taxpayer money.

The department announced Thursday it has reached a conditional, $259 million loan agreement with aluminum manufacturer Alcoa. The money will be used to fund an expansion of an Alcoa, Tennessee, facility that manufactures high-strength aluminum used in fuel-efficient cars.

3. Barron’s once again names Pagliara state’s top wealth advisor -

Middle Tennessee-based wealth manager Tim Pagliara, chairman and CEO of CapWealth Advisors, has been named the top financial advisor in the state of Tennessee by Barron’s magazine for the fourth consecutive year. He and his firm also made the magazine’s list of Top 1,200 Advisors for the sixth time in seven years.

4. Fisker bankruptcy bidding heats up quickly -

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Hybrid Technology, led by Hong Kong billionaire Richard Li, has offered $55 million in an auction of Fisker Automotive's assets, just days after a bankruptcy judge in Delaware rejected Hybrid's plan to take over the failed electric-vehicle manufacturer in a private sale.

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — A Delaware bankruptcy judge has ordered a competitive auction for the assets of Fisker Automotive, rejecting a proposal by a group led by Hong Kong billionaire Richard Li to assume control of the failed electric-vehicle manufacturer in a private sale.
