1. Titans need to pursue Steelers’ WR Brown -

Wanted: One dynamic, transformational type player who regularly affects the outcome of games. After watching the NFL playoffs unfold, it’s obvious the key to winning championships is having game-changing players in skill positions, preferably on the offensive side of the football.

2. Looks like Patriots (again?) vs. Saints in Super Bowl -

With only four teams remaining, it’s no real surprise that four of the most potent offenses in the league have slots in the conference championship games.

In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs are the latest challenger to the New England Patriots’ throne. Love the Pats or hate them, appearing in eight consecutive AFC title games is one of the most amazing feats in sports – perhaps on par with the dominance of John Wooden’s UCLA basketball teams of the 1960s or Casey Stengel’s Yankees of the ‘50s. Teams know they’re going to have to knock off the Patriots to do get to the top.

3. 3 issues Titans must address this offseason -

As the Tennessee Titans went their separate ways after missing out on the playoffs this season, there were plenty of reminders that things will be different when the team reconvenes in April to begin off-season workouts.

4. Titans at Chiefs: What to watch -

First down: Don’t be just happy to be there. The Titans have precious few players who have played in a postseason game. Even veterans like Derrick Morgan and Jurrell Casey are tasting the playoffs for the first time. They will have to survive the early jitters and realize it is just another football game (albeit with higher stakes) and go out and take care of business.

5. Skid pins Titans' hopes of ending playoff drought on finale -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The playoff math for the Tennessee Titans couldn't be simpler now.

A three-game skid equals a regular-season finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a postseason berth on the line with Tennessee needing a victory to end a postseason drought stretching to 2008.

6. Rams at Titans: What to watch -

Wesley Woodyard vs. Todd Gurley. After struggling last year, Gurley is back and is even picking up some chatter as an MVP candidate. The Titans have to find a way to slow him down if they are to have any chance of upsetting the Rams on Sunday. Gurley, who has nearly 1,200 yards rushing, also has caught 54 passes.

7. Pay for no play: UT paying millions to former coaches -

Tennessee’s bungled search for a football coach will come at a cost for the university. A big cost.

There are buyouts everywhere. A potential lawsuit looms. And a rift between boosters caused by the botched search may be the costliest item of all for the university long term.

8. Middle Tennessee's $1 million-plus residential real estate transactions for 2015 -

Middle Tennessee's $1 million-plus residential real estate transactions for 2015, Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford, Wilson and Sumner counties, as compiled by Chandler Reports.

9. Top residential real estate transactions for June 2015 -

Top residential real estate transactions, June 2015, for Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford, Wilson and Sumner counties, as compiled by Chandler Reports.

10. Vols unlikely to repeat November 2013 collapse -

KNOXVILLE – University of Tennessee football coach Butch Jones doesn’t have to remind his team about the disappointing fade last November.

UT went 0-3 to start what has historically been its best month of football. First, the Vols lost to Missouri and Auburn. Then a 14-10 loss to Vanderbilt in Neyland Stadium knocked the Vols out of bowl eligibility.

11. Vols hope to snap 20-game road slump vs. ranked opponents -

KNOXVILLE – It doesn’t get much easier for the University of Tennessee’s football team.

The Sept. 20 open date has come and gone. UT’s coaches and players had ample time to digest and dissect details of the 34-10 loss to No. 4-ranked Oklahoma on Sept. 13 and a week to prepare for a challenge just as formidable.

12. Looks like 6-6 season, return to bowl game for Vols -

KNOXVILLE – Pull out your 2014 schedules, UT fans.

Fall camp is done, and it’s time to get in game-week mode with the season opener against Utah State fast approaching.

So go to the little box next to each of UT’s opponents on the 2014 schedule and pick the winner.
