11. Vanderbilt leads stacked field at SEC Tournament -

Vanderbilt's blazing second half of the season has turned the Commodores into one of the favorites to win the Southeastern Conference tournament this week in Hoover, Alabama.

The Commodores (45-10, 23-7 SEC) won their first regular-season league title since 2013 by winning 14 of their final 15 league games, dominating foes with a powerful offense that paired well with solid pitching and defense. Coach Mike Mularkey said Monday that Mariota is day to day after an MRI showed a strain. Mularkey compared the injury to running back DeMarco Murray's recent hamstring injury, which kept the Pro Bowler out of a couple practices but not a game.

62. Letter urges more legislative oversight of outsourcing -

Forty-one state lawmakers signed a letter requesting the state put a hold on its outsourcing plans until the General Assembly can scrutinize its effect on state workers and services.

The state is set to sign a contract April 28 with Chicago-based JLL for facilities management work that could be used by universities and departments statewide. Even local government jobs could be doled out to the contractor.

70. Report: 6 officers in students' arrests violated policy -

MURFREESBORO (AP) - Six of the 10 officers involved in arresting elementary students at a school in Tennessee violated their department's policies, an internal police investigation determined.

Murfreesboro Police Chief Karl Durr said the case prompted police to respond to the community's concerns with reforms, including giving officers the option to handle juvenile offenders informally, through their parents. The department also is developing a new policy for issuing citations to juveniles instead of the court-mandated practice of arresting all of them, he said.

82. Guy Clark, Grammy-winning musician, dead at 74 -

NASHVILLE (AP) - Texas singer-songwriter Guy Clark, who helped mentor a generation of songwriters and wrote hits like "L.A. Freeway" and "Desperados Waiting for a Train," has died. He was 74.

Clark died Tuesday at his home in Nashville, Tennessee, according to his manager, Keith Case. He'd been in poor health, although Case didn't give an official cause of death.
