Gresham Smith, a national architecture and engineering firm based in Nashville, has expanded its executive management team, with Peter Oram, market vice president for the firm’s Transportation and Water + Environment businesses, being named chief operating officer, and Kelly Knight Hodges, market vice president for the firm’s Corporate + Urban Design business, selected as chief development and engagement officer, a new role that expands Gresham Smith’s executive management team from four to five members.

NASHVILLE (AP) — Lipscomb University has picked a former Tennessee education commissioner to become the Nashville school's new president.

The university says Candice McQueen on Sept. 7 will become the 18th president and first female CEO at the 130-year-old Christian liberal arts institution of about 5,000 students.

15. Vikings owners join Nashville MLS effort -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The majority owners of the Minnesota Vikings are joining a group trying to bring a Major League Soccer team to Nashville.

Mark, Zygi and Leonard Wilf are minority owners in the Nashville project, according to Nashville Soccer Holdings CEO John R. Ingram. Terms of the Wilfs’ investment haven’t been disclosed.

20. Lipscomb expands offerings to fill workplace needs -

Lipscomb University is gearing toward the future this fall with three new programs designed to give students an advantage in a rapidly changing job market.

With a recent vote aimed directly at employment trends, the university’s board of trustees approved a School of Public Policy and Civic Leadership, a separate competency-based program and a physician assistant degree.
