15. Edgenet acquired by Chicago-based Gladson -

Gladson, a Chicago-based portfolio company of The Jordan Company and Wicks Capital Partners, has acquired Nashville-based Edgenet, a product content management software provider.

The combination of Gladson’s digital content creation and technology-enabled dissemination capabilities and Edgenet’s network of more than 10,000 brands expands Gladson’s leadership position in its core markets, and further enhances the company’s mission to become an end-to-end single source of reliable product content and information with its clients. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP partner Lela M. Hollabaugh has been named by Who’s Who Legal as one of the world’s leading life sciences attorneys and is listed in the Product Liability chapter of the 2019 edition of Who’s Who Legal: Life Sciences.

Centerstone, a national behavioral health care provider, has named retired United States Air Force Col. Thomas W. Mahler Jr. chair of its board of directors for Centerstone Military Services.

Mahler has served as a board member since 2003. In 2014, he was selected to become the chair of the Centerstone Research Institute board and served in that role until 2016. In addition to chairing the Centerstone Military Services board, he also serves on the Centerstone Foundation board.

35. Nashville lawyer named TBA executive director -

The Tennessee Bar Association has named Nashville lawyer Joycelyn Stevenson as its new executive director.

A shareholder with Littler Mendelson PC with a practice focused on labor and employment law, Stevenson has been a leader in the Tennessee legal community, serving as president of both the Nashville Bar Association and the Lawyers’ Association for Women - Marion Griffin Chapter. She is the first African-American woman to lead both organizations and will be the first African-American woman to direct the TBA.

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP has hired Timothy L. Capria as an associate on the Intellectual Property team in Nashville. He previously was with Patterson Intellectual Property Law.

Capria focuses on acquiring intellectual property, patent opinion practice and enforcing intellectual property rights. He primarily prosecutes patents in the life sciences and medical device fields, and provides trademark counsel for clients operating in diverse sectors.

On Nov. 27, 1945, a poet named Pound, married to a woman named Shakespear, was arraigned before a judge named Laws. No joke.

The Honorable Bolitha J. Laws, chief judge of the District of Columbia District Court, saw Ezra Pound sit mute as the treason indictment was read. Pound’s lawyer, Julien Cornell, had filed an affidavit asserting Pound’s insanity and asking that he be released for treatment.

51. After Alps crash, some experts ponder flights without pilots -

NEW YORK (AP) — To improve airline safety, maybe we need to remove the pilots.

That radical idea is decades away, if it ever becomes a reality. But following the intentional crashing of Germanwings Flight 9525 by the co-pilot, a long-running debate over autonomous jets is resurfacing. At the very least, some have suggested allowing authorities on the ground to take control of a plane if there is a rogue pilot in the cockpit.
