1. NFL roster spots are for the great or versatile -

I first heard the term, “the more you can do,” from the late Floyd Reese, former Titans general manager, when I first started covering the Titans and the NFL.

Now a quarter century later, you’ll still hear that phrase spring forth from the Titans administration, including current general manager Jon Robinson and head coach Mike Vrabel. It came into play again last week when roster cuts were finalized.

2. Colleagues, players remember former Titans GM -

The death of Floyd Reese Saturday bought comments and memories from his many former players and co-workers.

Reese’s impact on the organization was profound, as he helped the club forge an identity in Tennessee after it was uprooted from Houston in 1996.

3. Reese’s contributions to Titans can't be overstated -

Quantifying the on-field impact that Floyd Reese had on the Tennessee Titans franchise is easy enough. With 111 victories in 13 seasons as the team’s general manager, and its only Super Bowl appearance to date, it is easy to see the contributions of Reese, who died last week at 73.

4. Bennett took proactive approach in longshot bid -

Twenty years ago, when college quarterback Drew Bennett beat the odds to make the Titans roster as an undrafted receiver, the stars aligned perfectly. And when the opportunity came, Bennett made the most of it.

5. Titans adding Phillips, Fisher, former GM to ring of honor -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Bum Phillips, Jeff Fisher and former general manager Floyd Reese will be the newest members of the Tennessee Titans' ring of honor.

6. Abelow named president of Nashville Bar Association -

Mike Abelow, member at Sherrard Roe Voigt and Harbison, has been named 2021 president of the Nashville Bar Association.

Abelow litigates complex business disputes, with a focus on business disputes that involve either party threatening to or filing for bankruptcy. He was a litigator with the Federal Trade Commission before moving to Nashville in 2007.

11. He's back -

About a month ago, following a Dec. 10 loss at Arizona, Marcus Mariota showed a seldom-seen side of his personality.

Clearly dejected, he seemed flustered and distraught while answering questions in his post-game press conference, even answering that he was “pissed off” about his performance when asked why he seemed more bothered than usual following the Titans’ 12-7 loss to the struggling Cardinals.

12. Top Middle Tennessee residential transactions for September 2017 -

Top residential real estate sales, September 2017, for Williamson, Rutherford, Wilson and Sumner counties, as compiled by Chandler Reports. Due to technical issues, Davidson County sales are unavailable for September.

13. Titans part ways with coordinator of college scouting -

We would be remiss if we let this draft get away without paying some sort of respect to long-time Titans scout and front office executive Blake Beddingfield, who was shown the door Monday after 18 years with the organization.

14. ‘Good locker room’ doesn’t happen by accident -

The first time I heard the term “good locker room” in relation to an NFL team, I figured it had something to do with TVs, air conditioning and nearby shower accommodations.

As usual, I was wrong.

15. Former GM Reese: Titans on track to match early success -

Are the Tennessee Titans on the verge of a breakthrough? It seemed as much over the second half of the 2016 season – the meltdown at Jacksonville notwithstanding.

But a man who knows something about building the Titans says the current edition is on the right track under the guidance of General Manager Jon Robinson and Head Coach Mike Mularkey.

16. Titans increase odds for draft success with trade -

Jon Robinson has played his trump card and might have ended much of the suspense Titans fans were anticipating in this year’s draft.

By swapping the overall first pick to the Los Angeles Rams for a bundle of draft choices this year and next, Robinson may not have made the splash that was anticipated but the ripple effect could set up the franchise for success for years to come.

17. Underwood’s drive: Restore the ‘euphoria’ of winning -

Marcus Mariota may be the face of the Tennessee Titans, but Steve Underwood is the voice. As president/CEO of the franchise, his is the final word at Saint Thomas Sports Park.

During the process that resulted in the hiring of Jon Robinson as general manager and Mike Mularkey as coach, Underwood was present for every interview, sitting with controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk and part-owner Kenneth Adams IV.

19. Rotten to the core: Titans fail to develop talent -

As the Tennessee Titans sink toward the end of another lackluster season, they head into the off-season with still more holes to fill for 2016.

Some of that, of course, is inevitable with any team as an NFL roster. Even on the best teams can have a 20 percent roster turnover in the off-season due to injuries, free agency and new draft picks coming on board.

20. Construction attorneys move to Dickinson Wright -

Nashville attorneys Rob Dodson and Slade Sevier have joined Dickinson Wright PLLC as members. Both were previously with Adams and Reese.

Dodson focuses his practice on the construction and energy industries. In addition to his primary construction practice, Dodson also has significant experience in general commercial litigation, insurance and products liability litigation.

21. 20 years later, franchise again at rock bottom -

The lockers have been cleaned out, the shoulder pads and helmets taken up to be cleaned and stored.

But the stench of the worst season for the Tennessee Titans franchise since 1994 still remained after the season wrapped up with a 2-14 mark.

27. Finally! Titans build for future through the draft -

OK, admit it. There were a bunch of you scratching your heads after the Titans drafted Taylor Lewan with the 11th overall pick in the NFL Draft.

And there were some of you who were clamoring for the Titans to gamble on Johnny Football with that pick, simply for the fact that the Titans could add some sizzle to a franchise that’s been on a low flame for the past five years.

That year, Chandler began collecting residential sales information for the Chandler Residential Report, considered the authoritative source for residential real estate sales information. Over the next three decades, the publications have been continually refined, enhanced and expanded, growing to include lot sales data, new residential construction and absorption information, and commercial sales. In 1987, Chandler Reports began one of the first on–line real estate market data services in the country, and is a nationally recognized leader in the industry. In 2004, Chandler Reports was purchased by The Daily News Publishing Co. In 2007, Chandler introduced RegionPlus, including property research for Nashville and Middle Tennessee. 29. GM, new coach, top draft pick show how Titans have changed -

Change doesn’t come easily for the Tennessee Titans.

Owner Bud Adams has, in his old age, become patient enough to let things run their course. Time tells Adams if his organization had made the right personnel moves. No need for sudden reversals.
