Battle of Franklin Trust Adds Additional Walking Tours. The Battle of Franklin Trust will offer additional walking tours to commemorate the 151st anniversary of the Battle of Franklin, which was fought on November 30, 1864. Eric A. Jacobson, CEO of The Battle of Franklin Trust, will lead two morning battlefield tours, one on Nov. 27 and one on Nov. 30. Each tour will begin at 8 a.m. at The Carter House, the site of the Federal headquarters during the battle, and last until 9:30 a.m. Guests will visit crucial spots on the battlefield and learn about pivotal moments that occurred before, during and after the battle. Tickets are $25. In addition, a special tour of the Spring Hill battlefield will be offered on Nov. 29, 3-4:30 p.m., on the anniversary of the battle there. Attendees will hear about the sharp fighting there as well as the Confederate confusion which led to the Federal army’s escape and ultimately the Battle of Franklin. Attendees will also receive one free house tour admission to either The Carter House or Carnton Plantation. Tickets are $25. Due to limited space, reservations are required for both tours. NASHVILLE (AP) - Little Big Town crushed it with their song "Girl Crush" and are tied with Eric Church with five nominations each at the 49th annual Country Music Association Awards.

In the nominations announced Wednesday, the four-part vocal group rode the success of the song to nominations for album of the year for "Pain Killer"; vocal group; musical event for a duet with Miranda Lambert; music video; and single of the year. The songwriters for "Girl Crush," Liz Rose, Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey, also received a nomination for song of the year.

NASHVILLE (AP) - Miranda Lambert has reached new heights as a female country performer: The fiery singer is the most decorated female artist in the history of the Country Music Association Awards.

Lambert's four wins Wednesday night give the 30-year-old a total of 11 CMA trophies throughout her career, putting her ahead of any other female act. Lambert's fifth consecutive win for female vocalist of the year Wednesday beat a record set by herself, Reba McEntire and Martina McBride.

NASHVILLE (AP) - Miranda Lambert released the most ambitious album of her career earlier this year and Country Music Association voters responded by giving her a record-tying load of nominations.

Lambert has nine nominations for the 48th annual CMA Awards, tying her own mark for the most nods to a female nominee, and nearly doubling her nearest competitor when the list was announced Wednesday in New York. Dierks Bentley is next with five nominations and Eric Church and Keith Urban have four apiece.

Nelly will perform the crossover hit "Cruise" with country duo Florida Georgia Line during the CMT Music Awards. The imaginary, but once impenetrable, lines between American music genres are blurring more each day, and Nelly's happy to serve as an eraser.
