“To everything there is a season.” The Hebrew Bible used the phrase first in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, then the Byrds, a folk/pop/rock band, borrowed it in 1965 for “Turn! Turn! Turn!” featuring Roger McGuinn on the 12-string Rickenbacker guitar.

8. Do real men really need soft, sweet-smelling beards? -

The business of men’s grooming is on the rise in Nashville, growing not from the hair on top of the head, but from the hair in front of it.

Beards have sprouted on many former baby-faced gents and the nests of facial hair have become more acceptable, if not downright trendy. Nashville, for a variety of reasons, has a slew of new businesses – both brick-and-mortar and online shops – taking advantage of this rise in the number of men who have decided to stop shaving.

9. TNReady testing the patience of all concerned -

If Clint Eastwood were to make to a sequel of “The Outlaw Josey Wales,” state Rep. Terri Lynn Weaver could play Granny Hawkins because of her penchant for blunt language.

On the run from Union troops after refusing to surrender early in the tale, the vengeful Wales runs into Granny Hawkins, who tells him she hears the feds are going to “heel and hide” him to a barn door.

Chances are if you’ve eaten out in some of Nashville’s hottest spots over the past 14 years or so, you’ve had the pleasure of being served by Kris Koon.

His first gig was at Carrabba’s, but it wasn’t long before he was working at Rumours Wine and Art Bar in the then barely burgeoning 12South neighborhood back in 2003, a job he says he is still recognized for almost daily.

18. Restaurant workers are in control amid high demand -

In 2011, Nick Pellegrino had one of those life-changing ideas that he just couldn’t shake. A musician and songwriter, he was exhausted from the hustle of that industry.
