Grading Jon Robinson’s drafts -
Friday, April 22, 2022
From the great (2016, 2019) to the disastrous (2018, 2020), Titans general manager Jon Robinson has had some big pendulum swings during his six drafts. Here's a look back at how each grades:
2016
1. Jack Conklin
9.
Robinson enters draft with trail of mixed results -
Friday, April 22, 2022
It is no secret that Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson needs a home run or two in this year’s NFL Draft, set for April 28-30 in Las Vegas.
As he prepares for his seventh draft as the Titans GM, Robinson has had his share of home run picks. But to continue the baseball analogy, as power hitters are often prone to do, he has had a number of strikeouts that have hurt the team’s development at some positions.
10.
Woods sees Titans as best chance at back-to-back Super Bowls -
Friday, March 25, 2022
NASHVILLE (AP) — Robert Woods heard from Rams coach Sean McVay shortly after the reigning Super Bowl champs agreed to a deal with Allen Robinson. Given a chance to pick a new team, the receiver nicknamed "Bobby Trees" saw the Tennessee Titans as the best fit in more than one way.
11.
Titans trade for receiver Robert Woods with Julio Jones cut -
Friday, March 18, 2022
NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have traded for wide receiver Robert Woods in a deal sending a sixth-round pick in the 2023 draft to the Los Angeles Rams.
12.
Hooper calls chance with Titans a no-brainer for tight end -
Friday, March 18, 2022
Tennessee's newest tight end Austin Hooper says he only wants a chance to compete with his third NFL team.
The Titans introduced Hooper on Monday, a quick turnaround from Cleveland releasing him Thursday. Hooper agreed to terms Friday after getting a scouting report on the Titans from his college teammate and now Titans quarterback Kevin Hogan.
13.
Titans release CB Jackrabbit Jenkins to clear cap space -
Friday, March 11, 2022
NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have released veteran cornerback Janoris "Jackrabbit" Jenkins after one season to clear approximately $6.9 million in salary cap space before the start of the new league year.
14.
Landry sees front 4 as group to lead Titans to Super Bowl -
Friday, March 11, 2022
NASHVILLE (AP) — Outside linebacker Harold Landry loves playing for the Tennessee Titans and wanted to do whatever he needed to make that continue.
15.
Vrabel win Coach of the Year, Rodgers 4th MVP award -
Friday, February 11, 2022
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A four-time MVP, three Super Bowl players and the beginning of a brother act.
The Associated Press 2021 NFL awards had a bit of everything, starting with Aaron Rodgers becoming the fifth player to repeat as Most Valuable Player.
16.
Vrabel has coordinator’s back as fans look for offensive answers -
Friday, February 4, 2022
While change is inevitable in the NFL, don’t look for Titans coach Mike Vrabel to alter his core beliefs and personnel after the team’s hasty playoff exit.
That means Ryan Tannehill will be back under center in 2022. The team will not make a blockbuster deal for Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson should they become available.
17.
Titans don’t have cash for free agent spending -
Friday, February 4, 2022
Where do they go from here? That is the biggest question regarding the Tennessee Titans in the immediate aftermath of their loss in the AFC Divisional Playoffs.
It is probably small consolation to the Titans that the upstart Cincinnati Bengals pulled another upset this past week in Kansas City to move on to Super Bowl LVI to face the Los Angeles Rams.
18.
Hindsight: More Foreman, less Henry -
Friday, January 28, 2022
Derrick Henry is still the king, but the Titans might have erred in relying on him in his return Saturday.
Henry, who had been out for nine weeks is, of course, the franchise running back, and everything the Titans do begins with him.
19.
‘Brutal’ or not, Tannehill will return -
Friday, January 28, 2022
By now, some of the sting of the Titans again blowing a No. 1 playoff seed has dissipated as reality has set in that yet again this team will not be in the Super Bowl.
Everything was seemingly lined up for 2021 to be the year the Titans finally got over the hump. After all, they had overcome injuries and having to use a record 91 players throughout the course of the season.
20.
Titans challenge: Winning in playoffs after blowing top seed -
Friday, January 21, 2022
NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have taken big steps in four seasons with coach Mike Vrabel reaching an AFC championship game and earning back-to-back AFC South titles along with a No. 1 seed.
21.
Titans waste top seed again with Henry's return not enough -
Friday, January 21, 2022
NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans had the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage along with Derrick Henry making a return just in time for the postseason.
22.
Henry's back! Titans activate their top back for playoffs -
Friday, January 21, 2022
NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans will have Derrick Henry on the field for their AFC divisional game with Cincinnati after moving the NFL's 2019 and 2020 rushing leader from injured reserve to the active roster.
23.
Titans defenders feeling healthy, ready to peak in playoffs -
Friday, January 21, 2022
NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee linebacker Bud Dupree feels as good as he's been all season and possibly is as healthy as he's been in well over a year.
That could go for the rest of his Titans defensive teammates.
24.
Playoff predictions -
Friday, January 21, 2022

Bengals at Titans: What to watch -
Friday, January 21, 2022
The Titans are in the playoffs with the No. 1 seed, meaning they won’t have to leave Nissan Stadium until the Super Bowl if they take care of business.
But being the No. 1 seed has not been kind to the franchise in the past. Both previous occurrences led to losses to the Baltimore Ravens.

Titans run against grain in playoffs -
Friday, January 21, 2022

In a season where Tannehill was one of only three Titans on the offense to start every game during the regular season, the 10-year veteran led Tennessee to a 12-5 record and the AFC's No. 1 seed. That's a first for a quarterback who never played in the postseason until coming to Tennessee in 2019.

Friday, January 14, 2022
When the Tennessee Titans lost at home six weeks ago to the Houston Texans, there was growing concern that Ryan Tannehill might not have what it takes to lead a team to a title.
Tannehill, who did not have Derrick Henry or Julio Jones that day – and then lost A.J. Brown in the first half to a chest injury – did not have one of his better days. In fact, it might have been his worst. He threw four interceptions in helping seal the Titans’ fate that day.

Titans fumbling away once-promising season -
Friday, December 24, 2021
After the Tennessee Titans’ Sunday loss in Pittsburgh, Coach Mike Vrabel was asked if the game got away from his club.
“It didn’t look like it got away to me. It looked like we came up a few inches short on fourth down. After two turnover-filled debacles and a bye week, the Titans ended up on the other side of a turnover-fest and got back in the win column Sunday. It surely helped that they faced woeful Jacksonville and rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
48.
Titans have to help struggling Tannehill -
Friday, December 10, 2021
With no Derrick Henry, and losing his top three receivers to injuries, the road for Ryan Tannehill has been rough in recent weeks.

62.

71.
Weaker schedule softens blow of Henry’s loss -
Friday, November 5, 2021
If there is any good news for the Titans in the wake of the Derrick Henry injury it is that the schedule does soften a bit after Sunday night’s game in Los Angeles against the powerful Rams.
It helped the Titans immensely that they jumped out to a 6-2 record, winning four in a row against AFC foes Buffalo, Kansas City and Indianapolis before getting the Henry news. This has given the Titans a good enough cushion in the woeful AFC South that there is almost no way they won’t win the division championship.
72.

Friday, October 29, 2021
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Two-time All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard understands what he's facing Sunday.

78.
Titans at Colts: What to watch -
Friday, October 29, 2021
The Titans have a golden opportunity to all but lock up the AFC South if they can win at Indianapolis Sunday. The Titans are 5-2 and already have a win against the Colts Sept. 26. That game was played when Colts QB Carson Wentz was hampered by two ankle sprains, and the Titans were able to take advantage and cruise to an early season win. In the rematch, the Titans can really gain the upper hand with a win or breathe life back into the Colts’ season with a loss.
79.
Yes, Henry is MVP-worthy, but the NFL is a QB league -

80.

Knack for finishing games not showing up early for Titans -
Friday, October 22, 2021
NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have a great knack for finishing games. Moving the ball after the opening kickoff is their big problem.

83.

89.
Manning up is a sure way to sway this football fan -
Friday, October 15, 2021
I’m trying to become a Titans fan, as befits a bona fide Nashvillian. But it’s going ... slowly. Here’s the problem:
Geographic proximity is not necessarily a factor in my sports loyalties. I grew up in an area with no professional team nearby until 1967, when the New Orleans Saints debuted 110 miles away.
90.
Henry again carrying battered Titans into crucial stretch -
Friday, October 8, 2021

The 2020 AP Offensive Player of the Year is leading the NFL with 640 yards rushing. He's atop the league with 142 carries and seven touchdowns, and he scored three more in a 37-19 win in Jacksonville in an almost pedestrian performance for Henry with 29 carries for 130 yards.

Titans are consistently inconsistent -
Friday, October 8, 2021
After four games there is much to dissect about the Tennessee Titans. About the only certainty with this team is that it is completely inconsistent.

I'm confident that we will. So we'll see who we have this week, we'll see who's available and get them ready."
95.

Fresh off back-to-back wins, Titans have some issues to fix -
Friday, September 24, 2021

At all.
A week after going to overtime for a big win at Seattle, the Titans turned the ball over three times and yet found a way to win for the first time in that situation since October 2007. They can thank their defense for allowing only one touchdown off those mistakes in a 25-16 win over the Colts.
