NASHVILLE (AP) — Free agent offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo and the Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

Sambrailo spent the past three seasons with Atlanta after a two-year stint with Denver. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder has played in 57 games, including 13 starts.

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans kept their starting offense together with only one exception before the start of free agency.

The defense will look very different.

The Titans traded five-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jurrell Casey to the Denver Broncos on Wednesday for a seventh-round draft pick, two people confirmed to The Associated Press. The three-time Pro Bowl tackle spent his time Thursday answering every question from reporters defending himself, apologizing for missing the Titans' first four games of a crucial season and explaining what happened.

53. What to watch as Titans open preseason practice -

Last year: Coach Mike Vrabel just missed the playoffs in his debut season despite having enough issues to distract any veteran head coach. The Titans opened with the longest game (in overall time) in NFL history, losing top pass catcher TE Delanie Walker to season-ending injury in the process. The Tennessee Titans are alive in the NFL playoff chase – they’re in with a win against the Colts on Sunday – thanks to some unlikely sources.

With the Titans on the ropes against the Washington Redskins in the fourth quarter last Saturday, it was a touchdown pass from backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert to tight end MyCole Pruitt that put Tennessee ahead to stay and makes Week 17 meaningful for the Titans’ playoff hopes.

1. The Titans quarterback situation. The Titans pulled a lot of tricks last week against Houston, and they will have an even bigger challenge this week on the road against Jacksonville. Marcus Mariota has had some good games against the Jaguars in the past, but the numbness in his throwing arm could linger, especially if there is nerve damage in the elbow. Blaine Gabbert was OK as a game manager against the Texans, but the Jaguars’ defense presents a major obstacle, no matter which QB is under center. Jacksonville defeated New England 31-20 last week to move to 2-0.
