The British government and the European Commission have confirmed the meeting, which will take place on Monday at lunchtime.

LONDON (AP) — The British government insisted Thursday that its forecast of food and medicine shortages, gridlock at ports and riots in the streets after a no-deal Brexit is an avoidable worst-case scenario, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson denied misleading Queen Elizabeth II about his reasons for suspending Parliament just weeks before the country is due to leave the European Union.

7. Lee is now member-in-charge at Frost Brown Todd -

Frost Brown Todd has named Thomas H. Lee member-in-charge of the firm’s Nashville office. Davidson County General Sessions judges have unanimously elected Judge Melissa Blackburn to serve as presiding judge through Sept. 2019.

Blackburn has been serving as presiding judge since Dec. 2017 when Judge Angelita Blackshear Dalton was elevated to the 20th District Criminal Court by Gov. Bill Haslam. She was elected to serve as judge of the Division II General Sessions Court in 2014.

Green & Little, L.P., real estate investment and development firm based in Gallatin, has named Anderson Green as vice president. Green oversees day-to-day business operations at the asset management level and will be more involved in the overall strategic direction for Green & Little. He has been with the company since 2014.

15. Guard promotes attorney to brigadier general -

Kurt Winstead, a founding member of the Nashville law firm Rudy Winstead Turner, PLLC, has been promoted to brigadier general in the Tennessee National Guard.

Winstead began his career with the Tennessee National Guard in 1990 when he was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General Corp. His first assignment was as the judge advocate general for the 194th Engineer Brigade, now headquartered in Jackson. Throughout his more than 26 years of service, Winstead has served in numerous assignments culminating as the senior staff judge advocate at the Joint Force Headquarters in Nashville.

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Wallace O. Westfeldt, whose half-century journalism career started in print and led to network and public broadcasting, died Sunday at the age of 91.

Westfeldt's death in Plattsburgh, New York, was confirmed by his family.

Samuel L. Felker of Baker Donelson has been elected chair of the Metropolitan Board of Health.

A shareholder in the firm’s Nashville office, Felker is a member of Baker Donelson’s Product Liability and Mass Tort Group and a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. He has served in leadership positions in the Nashville and American Bar Associations, and he is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel.
