1. Feeling blue: Lady Vols further honor Summitt’s legacy -

Kiki Milloy and her Tennessee softball teammates had been pleading to add a Lady Vols blue jersey to their uniform rotation since the senior first arrived on campus.

They finally got their wish granted last week when the university announced four women’s teams will debut Summitt Blue uniforms during the 2022-23 academic year in honor of late legendary basketball coach Pat Summitt.

Oops. I goofed last year. So did lots of other people who thought Tennessee’s football team would win the SEC East Division and go to the league championship game for the first time since 2007. I predicted the Vols would go 10-2 in the regular season, 6-2 in the SEC, tie Georgia for the East Division title, go to the SEC Championship Game, lose to Alabama for a second time and go to the Orange Bowl.

NEW YORK (AP) — One after another, the nation's most powerful Republicans responded to President Donald Trump's extraordinary remarks about white supremacists. Yet few mentioned the president.

The Senate's top Republican, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, condemned "hate and bigotry." House Speaker Paul Ryan charged that, "White supremacy is repulsive." Neither criticized the president's insistence that there were "very fine people on both sides" of a violent weekend clash between white supremacists and counterdemonstrators.

Clarksville’s Jalen Reeves-Maybin is in full football mode as he prepares for his senior season at Tennessee.

After choosing not to enter the 2016 NFL Draft, Reeves-Maybin graduated in May after three years and is focused on helping UT win an SEC championship and improving his stock in next year’s draft. He’s also taking a few graduate courses, nothing too taxing.
