The Tennessee Titans are alive in the NFL playoff chase – they’re in with a win against the Colts on Sunday – thanks to some unlikely sources.

55. Things to consider during Titans' bye week -

Three things to feel good about heading into the week off

1. Jurrell Casey is playing as well as ever.

The Titans’ best defensive lineman is having a banner season, providing even a good part of the pass rush, despite spending some of his time as a five-technique end, which isn’t exactly a prime spot from which to pass rush.

56. Titans shut out for 1st time since relocating to Tennessee -

NASHVILLE (AP) — First-year head coach Mike Vrabel knows exactly what the Titans didn't do in being shut out on its own field for the first time since this franchise moved to Tennessee way back in 1997.

57. Titans have had season of adversity in 4 games -

Tough times don’t build character, the old saying goes, they reveal it.

If that’s so, the Tennessee Titans may have found a keeper in Mike Vrabel just four weeks into his tenure as an NFL head coach.

58. Titans building confidence, momentum with 3 consecutive wins -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Mike Vrabel has been preaching about playing aggressive from the moment he arrived in Tennessee.

A month into the season, the Titans are doing just.

At 3-1, the Titans are off to their best start since 2013 under their first-year head coach, having won three straight — each by three points.

59. Mariota looking healthy as Titans beat Eagles 26-23 in OT -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Marcus Mariota's right hand sure seems pretty healthy, and the Tennessee quarterback keeps proving he knows how to find ways to win when it matters most.

Mariota threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a team-high 46 yards and another score Sunday in leading the Titans to a 26-23 overtime victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He finished off the win by lofting a 10-yard TD pass to Corey Davis with 5 seconds left in overtime.

60. Titans GM on releasing receiver: Reached point of no return -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans now are without their top two receiving threats this season, releasing wide receiver Rishard Matthews after they couldn't trade the veteran.

The Titans talked with several teams, but Robinson said nothing came from those discussions with Matthews unhappy over his role in the offense.

61. Marcus Mariota starting with Titans' backups hurt, learning -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is starting this weekend against the Eagles, no matter how limited his injured right hand might be.

Mariota is Tennessee's best option with backup QB Blaine Gabbert in the concussion protocol. Austin Davis just joined the Titans and has been given a crash course in the Titans' offense but is still learning the playbook.

62. Titans at Jaguars: What to watch -

1. The Titans quarterback situation. The Titans pulled a lot of tricks last week against Houston, and they will have an even bigger challenge this week on the road against Jacksonville. Marcus Mariota has had some good games against the Jaguars in the past, but the numbness in his throwing arm could linger, especially if there is nerve damage in the elbow. Blaine Gabbert was OK as a game manager against the Texans, but the Jaguars’ defense presents a major obstacle, no matter which QB is under center. Jacksonville defeated New England 31-20 last week to move to 2-0.

63. Mariota practices for Titans, expected to play vs. Texans -

NASHVILLE (AP) — Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota practiced fully Wednesday after being knocked out of Tennessee's season opener when he hurt the elbow on his right, throwing arm.

Barring any setbacks, Titans coach Mike Vrabel expects his quarterback to play Sunday.

64. Titans at Dolphins: What to watch -

The Titans’ first-team offense got only limited work in the preseason, and the unit’s “dress rehearsal” two weeks ago against the Steelers was decidedly lacking. Now that things are for real with the regular season opening, it will be interesting to see just how much Marcus Mariota has soaked in the new scheme and what Matt LaFleur has up his sleeve.

65. How the Titans' roster will likely shake out -

We’ll take a little different tack this week, since, for one, the preseason finale with the Minnesota Vikings will have already been played when this is published, and the season opener with the Miami Dolphins doesn’t take place until Sept. 9.

66. Healthy Rishard Matthews excited about Titans' new offense -

67. Winless in preseason, Titans coach taking blame to himself -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans remain winless through three preseason games with a brand-new coaching staff busy trying to fix issues on offense and defense.

70. Titans lean heavily on young receivers under new coaches -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Titans seem confident that their young wide receivers will quickly make an impact this year.

Injuries limited Corey Davis in his rookie year last season and Tajae Sharpe missed his second consecutive season after re-injuring his right foot . Taywan Taylor, the third-round pick a year ago, had his production fall off after a promising start. Rishard Matthews is the lone true veteran going into his seventh NFL season.

71. Predators stretch record to 10 consecutive wins, beat Ducks 4-2 -
