1. Ginni Thomas' emails deepen her involvement in 2020 election -

WASHINGTON (AP) — Virginia "Ginni" Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and a conservative political activist, urged Republican lawmakers in Arizona after the 2020 presidential election to choose their own slate of electors, arguing that results giving Joe Biden a victory in the state were marred by fraud.

2. Nashville headed in the wrong direction or going too fast? -

In 2015, the first year of the Vanderbilt Poll, 72% of respondents said Nashville was headed in the right direction. “Millennials are the most optimistic but the positive feelings stretch across income levels, race and age categories,” Vanderbilt reported at the time.

3. Supreme Court rules for Sen. Cruz in campaign finance case -

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court's conservative majority sided Monday with Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and struck down a provision of federal campaign finance law, a ruling that a dissenting justice said runs the risk of causing "further disrepute" to American politics.

4. Dome alone? No, it takes more to land Super Bowl -

Several years ago, city and state leaders discussing the future of the Nashville sports landscape during the 2020s had one key question: Could Nashville host a Super Bowl. The really short answer was “no” and for two very simple reasons: Not enough hotels and the lack of a stadium that could accommodate such a mammoth undertaking.

5. VU poll: Nashvillians say city headed in wrong direction -

For the first time since the Vanderbilt Poll–Nashville was established in 2015, more than half of respondents say they believe the city is headed in the wrong direction.

Fifty-three percent of those who took the survey, which gauges people’s perception of their local government, said that Nashville is off track—a significant swing from last year, when 59 percent of residents polled said they believed the city was “generally headed in the right direction.”
