INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Tennessee put more pressure on Indianapolis than it could handle Sunday.

It's happened a lot to the Colts lately.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett spent most of the day getting up from the turf. The Titans forced a key turnover late in the third quarter and overpowered the Colts in the fourth to rally from a 10-point deficit to a 20-16 victory.

38. Judge lifts federal oversight on Tennessee children services -

NASHVILLE (AP) — After more than 16 years, the Tennessee Department of Children's Services is free of federal oversight from a 2001 settlement over its treatment of foster care children.

The long-awaiting decision by a federal judge Tuesday drew praise from both Gov. Bill Haslam and the nonprofit Children's Rights, which sued the department in 2000, about a decade before Haslam took office. Officials say the case has resulted in substantial changes to a substandard system that warranted a lawsuit.

Two state parks are celebrating victories in an atmosphere of uncertainty created by the governor’s penchant for privatizing state functions.

Fall Creek Falls drew no bidders for a $20 million plan to hire a vendor who would tear down its inn, construct a new one and take over operations for 10 years. Henry Horton State Park, meanwhile, is set for $10 million in improvements this coming fiscal year, including upgrades to its hospitality facilities, plus a new visitors’ center, rather than a proposal to raze its inn and not rebuild.

NASHVILLE (AP) - Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam has appointed Bonne Hommrich as commissioner of the state Department of Children's Services.

Hommrich has served for more than a decade as a deputy commissioner for child programs at the agency. According to The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/1HfFoJf), Haslam said in a statement that the 68-year-old Hommrich "has dedicated her entire career to helping children and families."

Uniguest, a provider of secure managed technology services, has announced the appointment of Joseph P. Morgan, Jr. as chief executive officer, effective July 6, 2015.

Morgan had served as president and chief executive officer of The Standard Register Company, a publicly traded company with revenues approaching $1 billion, since January 2009. At The Standard Register Company, he was responsible for the transformation of the printing giant to an integrated communications company leveraging both technology and innovation to develop a market-focused strategy. Morgan also served on the Board of Directors and held a number of community and charitable leadership positions during his tenure with the company.

NASHVILLE (AP) — Jim Henry has been chosen as chief of staff for Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, effective Aug. 1.

Haslam announced the selection of the 70-year-old Henry on Tuesday. Henry has been serving as commissioner of the Department of Children's Services and was previously commissioner of the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee is spending millions of dollars to save emails that could potentially become evidence in lawsuits.

WPLN-FM reports (http://bit.ly/1v6OU8e) during recent budget hearings, Department of Children's Services Commissioner Jim Henry said his agency is spending $865,000 to save emails. The expense stems from a 14-year-old federal lawsuit over the state's treatment of children in foster care.

96. Audit of Tennessee child welfare agency finds problems -

NASHVILLE (AP) - An audit of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services finds that the state child-welfare agency has had numerous problems, including sloppy child-abuse investigations.

The audit, performed by the state comptroller's office and released Monday, also found that DCS was not adequately tracking juvenile delinquents on probation and failed to report the deaths of children in its custody, as required by law.
