Kid A’ Riffic Fun. Families are invited to participate in crafts, games and other activities in different Knoxville parks and natural areas. Sponsored by Home Federal Bank, the event is for families with children age 2-12 offering activities, games, hands-on crafts and other fun pursuits hosted by the City of Knoxville Office of Special Events, Parks and Recreation Department and community partners. Kuumba Festival

The three-day Kuumba Festival, the largest African American cultural arts festival in East Tennessee, kicks off at Market Square on July 29. The July 30-31 events will be held at Morningside Park. The Kuumba Festival is a three-day cultural event showcasing live performances from local, regional and national artists. The Kuumba Marketplace will open the day’s event with food and merchandise vendors from all over the world. Kuumba Watoto Dance and Drum ensemble and Indigenous Vibes will perform throughout the festival with amazing sounds and movements of traditional West African Drum and dance by artists of all ages. Don Sproles Memorial Evening ‘Wine and Shine’

The annual benefit for the Volunteer Ministry Center features wines and moonshine tastings, gourmet food, live music, and silent and live auctions. Longtime News Sentinel columnist and humorist Sam Venable will serve as the emcee. Attendees must be 21 or older. Summer Movie Magic series at Tennessee Theatre

This movie series, presented by Denark Construction, presents a lineup of three themed movies each weekend in the categories of music, popular classics and family entertainment. On Friday nights, movies about some of the best bands of all time will be featured for the Summer of Sound series. Popular Picks will be a staple for Saturday nights. Sunday matinees will be all about family fun and feature movies that everyone can enjoy. Various weekends in July and August (see below), The Tennessee Theatre, 604 S Gay St, Knoxville, 37902.
