Concerned that her husband Paul’s temporary work visa was about to expire despite her best efforts to help him with the extension paperwork, Melissa Carrasco followed the instructions of a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services representative and, battling morning sickness, drove three hours with her Bolivian spouse from central Virginia to Washington, D.C., to renew the card that would allow him to stay in the United States.

The fundraising luncheon (registration required) is an opportunity for the community to learn more about the services that the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley provides to youth. Boys & Girls Clubs offer programs that increase academic success, encourage healthy lifestyles and develop good citizenship and character among youth and teens. The 2022 event will feature the Youth of the Year finalists as they share their powerful of stories of hope and opportunities. The event is not ticketed but reservations are required.
